Taco Rosa, Chef Ivan Calderon’s upscale Mexican restaurant in Newport Beach, will host its 7th Annual “Battle of the Tequilleros" on Sunday, September 23rd from 4-8 p.m. Bringing together 26 different tequila and mezcal brands, the celebratory event will benefit Operation of Hope, a local non-profit providing free, life-changing surgeries and health care for children and adults in under-served areas of the world, while creating a self-sustaining program of hope through education.

As the largest tequila tasting in Southern California, the event gives guests an unparalleled opportunity to experience the unique nuances between a variety of tequilas and mezcals. Guests can also enjoy tray-passed tapas-style bites from the Taco Rosa kitchen, exciting giveaways, a silent auction, and live mariachi music. A panel of esteemed judges will determine winners in three categories: Best Añejo and Best Reposado; while guests will have the opportunity to cast votes for Best Margarita and Best Booth Presentation.

9/23 - BATTLE OF THE TEQUILEROS IN TR NB

Now in its 6th year, Taco Rosa in Newport Beach will host "Battle of the Tequileros" on Saturday, September 23 from 4-8 p.m. Bringing together 26 different tequila and mezcal brands, the celebratory event will benefit Operation of Hope, a local non-profit providing free, life-changing surgeries and health care for children and adults in under-served areas of the world, while creating a self-sustaining program of hope through education.

As the most diverse tequila tasting in Southern California, the event will give guests an unparalleled opportunity to experience the unique nuances between a variety of tequilas and mezcals. Guests can also enjoy tray-passed tapas-style bites prepared by Executive Chef Ivan Calderon and his culinary team.

Now in its seventh year, the Golden Foodies is an INCREDIBLE event that honors the Best Chefs, Libations and Cuisine of chef driven and independent restaurants. This is the "People's Choice Food Awards" you decide who is the BEST. This year, Taco Rosa is in the running for the coveted titles of Best Lunch and Best Service!

 

10/25 -SOY (Save Our Youth) FOOD TRUCK / COCKTAIL PARTY

The SOY Center empowers the youth of Newport Mesa to make positive decisions in life through a variety of programs including academic, dance, art & music, health & fitness, and student empowerment.

 

12/1- TAMALE DEMONSTRATION

During the month of December, Chef Ivan Calderon will host a series of hands-on tamale cooking demos. The interactive cooking classes will allow guests to make their own tamales with GMO-free corn masa produced from Calderon's newest restaurant Taco Mesa Tortilleria Orgánica & Café.
